Open Letter to Bill Burr

 

Dear Bill Burr: 

I love your work.  Your humorous allegories on race as a white man married to a black woman are hilarious and inciteful.  I would agree with your perspective of God as well.  Organized religion has confused me as well.  It doesn’t make any sense that He / She would create all of this, just to judge us and to send us to hell.  I knew this at 21, so I spent the last 30 years trying to discover what the real reason is, and this is what I have found.  The reason He created us, doesn’t destroy the devil, allows suffering, and tells us to fix the ills of the world lies in what He wants to give us forever.  That is the following:

Ø  Adoption as His children

Ø  Being made perfect

Ø  Allowing us to be seated with His actual birthed Son

Ø  Fulfilling our destiny

Ø  Being Filled with Glory

Ø  The ability to overwhelm Him with pleasure that only few will be able to possess

Ø  Being a member of the army that finally brings restoration to the world and destroys all evil (Bill, we get to fight with God, dude)

Ø  To be able to swim inside of all power and pleasure and love forever

Ø  The right to sit on His throne

Ø  Intimate knowledge of Him the way spouses know each other

Ø  The ultimate prize for living accomplishing His purpose for our lives

Ø  To make us kings and queens to rule over nations in His new kingdom

Ø  The ability to conquer, anything, anywhere, and anytime

Ø  To fulfill the reason why we were accomplished in the first place  

Ø  The role of ruling all creation as a queen does with a king

Ø  A better resurrection  (Hebrews 11:35)

Ø  The victory of freeing all creation from its enslavement to death and destruction

Ø  His Last Name given to us by writing the same name on our foreheads that He has on His

Ø  Participation in destroying the devil forever

Ø  Vindication from everyone who ever screwed you over (He will make them bow down to your feet Bill).

Ø  One entire life re-written by God so that the video that gets popped in shows that you never sinned or made a mistake (You will like this one, Bill)

Ø  And after all this, something unknown that is so incredible that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived.  It is not anything on this list because our ears have already heard it. 

So, you are right Bill.  Not one thing on this list mentions heaven or hell, streets of gold, or a lake of fire.  In my bible research, I found this is why God created us.  He gave us all of these things forever because first, more than anything, He is a Father who wants more children.

So that is “the what”, Bill.  All we have to do now is discover the who, why, when, where, and how.
