Why I Stopped Praying

Often, I prayed to avoid the fires in my life. More times than I can count, I would find the supernatural answer to those prayers would lead me into the fires that I prayed to avoid. So, I would stop praying. It seemed like God did the opposite of what I asked which, psychologically, tortured me. But what God was trying to do was answer my prayers in ways beyond my imagination. He was trying to lead me into the fire and meet me there. The plan was me to walk into it, and not feel any heat, to see that my clothes were not singed. To not even smell the smoke. The flames would be like a breeze for me. And then I would walk out unscathed. He does not want to just deliver me from the fire. He wanted to transform me into a child of His that would never be afraid of fire again.

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

Daniel 3:25

He answered and said, 'Look! I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Peter 1:7

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 13:9

I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; and each one will say, 'The Lord is my God.
