What Are We Willing to Do To Reach the Lost

Timothy Got Circumcised

Timothy was a young disciple with a Jewish mother and a Greek father. He was already saved, full of the Spirit, and chosen by Paul to join him on his missionary journey. But before they set out, Paul did something shocking—he circumcised Timothy. Not because the Gospel required it. Not because God demanded it. But because they were about to preach to Jews who would have rejected Timothy simply for being uncircumcised.

Timothy didn’t need to prove anything to God. But he was willing to endure excruciating pain to remove any obstacle that might keep someone from hearing the truth.

Paul and Timothy loved God so much, they were willing to do whatever it took to reach people with the Gospel. No excuses. No fear. No compromise.

And yet today:

95% of Christians have never led someone to Jesus

85% don’t feel comfortable sharing their faith

70% of unchurched people have never been invited to church

95% of churches report zero salvations each year

75% of Americans don’t believe Jesus is the only way

Only 17% of churchgoers know what the Great Commission is

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
— Matthew 28:19–20
