You are God's Inheritance
I have learned my entire life that I can’t affect God. That He doesn’t need me. That I’m here to serve Him, glorify Him, and that my existence is all about Him—not the other way around. I’ve been told I’m created for His glory, and that He is above feeling or change. But here’s the thing: the Bible never actually says that.
In fact, Scripture says the opposite.
It says God’s heart can be broken (Genesis 6:6).
It says Jesus wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41).
It says we can grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30).
It says David was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).
It says He rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).
And it says this:
> “The riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints.” (Ephesians 1:18)
Wait. We are His inheritance? That means we are His reward.
God sees you—not just as a servant or a worshipper—but as His treasure, His joy, His eternal reward. And that changes everything. It means you’re not just living for God—He, in a mysterious and glorious way, has chosen to live for you.
That’s what Jesus proved when He died on the cross.
He didn’t need you to complete Himself.
He didn’t save you because He was lonely.
He saved you because He wanted you.
Because you are what He was after.
The cross wasn’t just about forgiveness—it was about redemption. Reclaiming what was already His. Buying back His inheritance. The reward for Christ’s suffering… is you.
That’s not arrogance. That’s identity.
You matter to God not just as a creation—but as an heir, a child, a joy, and yes, an inheritance.
So today, don’t just live like you’re serving a King—
Live like you are the crown He wore thorns for.
Because you are.
